Driving Home: Drops may be used to dilate your pupils during your consultation. These drops will blur your eyes, affecting your near vision. It may take approximately two hours for your vision to return to normal. We suggest you avoid driving during this time and recommend you have someone drive you home, or take public transport. Sunglasses will help to minimise the glare caused by dilated pupils.
Parking: Metered street parking is available or there is a parking station underneath RPAH Medical Centre. Access is via Elizabeth Lane off Carillon Avenue.
Drop Off Zone: You can be driven to the door with a drop off area at the main entrance.
What to Expect
During your visit, you will be seen by one of our orthoptists who will assess your vision, note your medical history and perform testing as required by the ophthalmologist. You will then by seen by one of our ophthalmologists who will examine your eyes. As part of a full eye examination, your pupils may be dilated. This means that you should not drive for two hours. Please brings sunglasses if you have them as this will help with glare.
