Dr Athena Roufas is an anterior segment surgeon, specialising in cornea, glaucoma and cataract surgery.

Dr Athena Roufas completed her Ophthalmology training in Sydney, Australia and went on to complete sub-specialist training in Glaucoma at Westmead Hospital in Sydney. She subsequently undertook a further 2 years of advanced sub-specialist training in Cornea / Anterior Segment Trauma at the prestigious King’s College Hospital in London, where she was trained in the latest techniques in cornea surgery. Her training and experience in these tertiary referral settings have developed her skills in cornea, glaucoma and cataract surgery.

Dr Roufas has published in many peer-reviewed journals and has presented at international conferences. She is a consultant ophthalmologist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and a Clinical Lecturer with the University of Sydney.
