Dr Harrisberg uses the Schwind Esiris laser at the Sydney Eye Specialists Centre located in Kingsford. Dr Harrisberg has chosen to perform his procedures at this location because of the technology available there.
Dr Harrisberg has used a variety of lasers over his career but has chosen to use the Schwind system after reviewing all the literature and outcome studies. In his opinion the Schwind stands out as the laser that provides the best possible results for his patients.
About
the Schwind Laser
The Scwind Laser operates in conjunction with the ORK Wavefront analyser. This technology allows the surgeon to take a "fingerprint" of your cornea via a type of topographical map. This is then used to ascertain your suitability for surgery, to plan your procedure and to guide the laser beam during your procedure.
"A 'complete', highest resolution analysis of the refractive path of the eye is now available to surgeons for refractive surgery applications. This information provides surgeons with the information needed to achieve superior results for patients in refractive surgery." Schwind
Why
is this important for you?
– It allows the surgeon to accurately assess whether you’re a good candidate for laser vision correction
– It allows the surgeon to accurately predict what your visual results are likely to be after the procedure
– It gives you a personalised treatment plan
– It will result in a lower risk of problems with night vision after the procedure
Dr Harrisberg will determine after testing your eyes whether a customised ablation (in conjunction with LASIK) will be beneficial for you.
The Schwind laser system incorporates a high pulse frequency, active high speed tracking and a small scanning spot laser beam. But what does all this mean, well for you this means:
– Optimal energy distribution to minimise corneal disturbance
– Less corneal tissue removal required, therefore high corrections are possible
– Rreduced risk of postoperative haze
– Individual treatment profile possible
– Better long sighted treatments with enhanced ablation zones up to 9mm possible
– Quick post-operative recovery of visual acuity and tissue healing
