General Ophthalmology

Dr Diana Farlow obtained her undergraduate degrees at the University of Sydney. She was awarded a Bachelor of Science (Medical) degree with Distinction in 1982 on the topic of neurophysiology. She was awarded an Australian Medical Association Scholarship for this research. She was also awarded a Sydney Women’s College Scholarship for her undergraduate studies towards her medical degrees.

In 1985 she was admitted to the degrees of Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery with First Class Honours. She completed her ophthalmology training under the tutelage of Prof Fred Hollows at the Prince of Wales Hospital, Randwick. She was admitted as a Fellow to the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists in 1993.

Dr Farlow has been in private practice as a general ophthalmologist for 23 years. She has many years experience in managing a wide range of general eye disorders including glaucoma, ocular surface diseases such as allergies and dry eyes, minor lid lesions, retinal disorders such as macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease and is experienced with children’s eye disorders.

Dr Farlow is a member of the RANZCO NSW Branch Committee and was on the RANZCO Federal Council for 4 years. She is on the Board of the Centre for Eye Health and is a member of the AMA and is an expert advisor to the HCCC.
